Description

Name: Padema
Gender: Female
Age: Young adult
Build: Arboreal Tsimu

Biography and such:
Padema lives high in the canopy of a warm forest.  It's quite tropical and her nest is on the larger size of about 30 members.  Padema has mixed roles within her nest as she is very involved with magic.  She loves magic and is constantly trying to create new things such as attempting to turn one thing into another thus marking her as an alchemist.  One of the biggest feats she wants to overcome is turning lead into gold.  She is also a gatherer, most often found looking for herbs, as she is pretty experienced in knowing what herbs are needed for specific remedies.  She gathers them for healers and nurses when someone is sick within the nest as well as for her own alchemy needs.  Padema is overly considerate toward others and especially toward nature, right down to the very snail traveling slowly down a branch.

Padema is pretty cheerful.  I picture her being quick and often running about the branches at the top of canopies with ease.  She is on the smaller size for an Arboreal Tsimu but it helps her squeeze into the spaces needed to grab particular herbs and fungi.  Padema has a small assortment of clothing and bottles kept in her home that she sometimes will wear and bring with her depending on the weather, because she is superstitious like that.  Padema's nest is represented by a symbol of three diamonds (drawn above) and is dyed into every single piece of item and clothing she owns.  Sometimes Tsimu in her nest will dye the symbol into their fur, particularly when they are leaving the nest to go exploring.  Padema's nest is a proud one as their guards are chivalrous and the nest overall is very healthy and thriving.  They are very strong and don't take kindly to outsiders.  If an outsider comes across a Tsimu with the three diamond symbol, they should be slightly weary if their intentions are ill toward that Tsimu.

Padema often uses her magic to turn graphite into diamonds.  Diamonds are highly sought after by herself and nestmates as that is the symbol that represents them.  Each nestmate is presented three diamonds at a young age as a christening into the nest.  With these diamonds they know they belong and are strongly accepted by their peers, however they are not forgiving if one decides to abandon the nest.

Padema was born within this nest however her mother and father are no longer around.  They were gathers and when Padema was young, her parents went out together but never returned.  She doesn't know what happened to them but she does think of them often.  Padema always carries her three christening diamonds with her, usually tied at the end of her tail, but sometimes she ties them around her ankle if she is going foraging for fear of losing them with her quick movements.  She also likes to occasionally wear a crown of flowers atop her head.  Her favourite food is grapefruit along with other sour things like lemons and limes.

Introductions:
When I am in the canopies, racing along the top, I feel alive.  And when the birds hear me speeding toward them, they burst into the air like fireworks.  I leap as high as I can, and momentarily take flight with them until I peak and gravity has me rushing toward the ground.  I grab hold of a branch, a little ungraceful for my liking, it bounces under my weight but I stable myself and continue running.  Vials of glass bounce at my hind legs.  It is my role to gather herbs today.  I know which ones I need but they are far from the nest, it will be a days journey at best.

I run for hours, sometimes stopping to listen to my surroundings.  The forest is lush and thick, perfect for grabbing the branches under my feet to propel me forward faster.  But suddenly I smell it and stop.  I lift my paw in anticipation and sniff the air again.  There it is.  The sweet smell of the herb needed by healers back at the nest.  I tentatively look around, trying to spot the green blue hue amongst the leaves.  This herb is usually found at the tops of large white trees.  I spot it and advance forward.

These herbs will help heal sick younglings when mixed with the right amount of honey and pepper.  I carefully pluck a handful of herbs free from the tree, trying not to disturb the line of ants marching on the same branch.  I uncork my flask and deposit as many herbs as possible.  They will need to be grinded, but that can be saved for later.  After stoppering the bottle back up, I peer down below toward the floor of the forest.  There lies a bed of the most perfect flowers for a most perfect day.

Most Tsimu of my nest might be anxious to descend so far below the canopy, but not me.  I start to trickle to the floor, using the vines and many branches to support my way down.  It is darker and moist near the forest floor, it makes the air I breathe and my thick fur a little uncomfortable for my liking.  There are three flowers, and they lay in a bed of moss that is surprisingly cool and soft to my touch.  I brush the biggest flower with my paw, it is soft, like the wings of a butterfly.  They are orange and a deep pink, matching my fur perfectly.  Normally I would snatch the flowers up and braid them into the mane of my fur, but these are so perfect.  Happy and proud little flowers, perfectly content with their surroundings.  I laugh at their contentment and leave them where they lie.  It is best not to disturb what is perfectly placed.

I turn my face upward toward the sun and begin to climb once more.  I have one other item to seek out, but it could take hours to find.  When I emerge, the air is thinner and easier to breathe.  This is why I prefer my world up high.  I make my way toward the crystal caves where the blue glowing fungus like to grow.  I keep my ears perked for signs of danger as I approach the giant cavernous rocks.  It is daylight but I notice the faint bioluminescent glow of the blue mushrooms at the base of the opening.  I opened my satchel as I gathered a few and placed them neatly inside.  They looked comfortable enough as I tucked them in, closing my bag allowing them to slumber.

I could have grabbed more of the fungi, but I allowed myself only a few.  Like the flowers, these too were content with their home.  Illuminating their crystal cave for other forest dwellers.  It would be a shame to minimize the light where these mushrooms so happily thrive.  No, I should leave them and come back another time to gather them, for when the nest truly needs their help.  I turn my back, leaving the crystals behind.  My nest mates might be disappointed if I do not return with any diamonds, as we all love the things that are shiny.  But this place is too perfect to disturb.

As I head back, I climb the branches of the trees once more.  There I can see the brilliant orange of the setting sun in the sky.  It set streaks of pink and blue across the clouds.  The colours make them look delicious enough to eat.  After admiring the sky, I set myself into a fast pace once more, I break toward the nest, eager to show the others my findings and tell tales to the younglings of the beauty nature holds.
